Day 1: Cusco to Santa Maria
We leave between 7.15 am. / 7:30. With the meeting at the Reserv Cusco office. Our journey begins leaving Cusco with a panoramic view of the city, and then we go on way to Chinchero / Ollantaytambo.
Where we will take the highway to Abra Malaga 4350 meters above sea level, that’s is a mystical viewpoint.
A place where farmers/natives frequently make mystical offerings to the earth.
From this point we will continue in our van for about 10 minutes more and then we reach 4,100 meters in the Peruvian Andes. We will have a technical briefing of our guide. We will take our specialist bike for a spectacular downhill trail ride for approx. 2.45 minutes.
On the route, we will have the chance to observe the immensity of La Convencion Valley.
At first we will observe the vegetation of the Peruvian Andes, small plantations weathered by the cold.
Then we will reach the high jungle, we will watch tropical plants such as coca, orange, manga and others.
(We will have 3 stops along the way to take pictures and listen to the guide’s explanations).
Finally, after 2.45 hours approx. biking , we reach the 1.100 meters above sea level… And arrived to Santa Maria.
We arrive at our small lodge. Rustic but very cozy, then we will have the lunch. After a rest, we will go to the river to enjoy an exceptional activity of Rafting class III ;
For those who don’t want to do rafting activity, can have relaxing time at the lodge or do a small plantation coffee tour; in the evening we will have the dinner and a short briefing of our guide.
